    Knowledge in the form of semantic data is becoming more and more ubiquitous, and the need for scalable, dynamic systems to support collaborative work with such distributed, heterogeneous knowledge arises. We extend the “data in the cloud” approach that is emerging today to “knowledge in the cloud”, with support for handling semantic information, organizing and finding it efficiently and providing reasoning and quality support. Both the life sciences and emergency response fields are identified as strong potential beneficiaries of having ”knowledge in the cloud”

    REABILITAÇÃO CARDÍACA COMBINADA COM O METODO DE RESTRIÇÃO DE FLUXO SANGUÍNEO

    Introdução: Com o crescente número de casos de doenças cardiovasculares, a reabilitação cardiorrespiratória pode ajudar ao retorno das atividades de vida diárias, entretanto essa metodologia tem uma progressão lenta e poucos resultados a curto prazo, visto que pesquisadores japonês desenvolveram uma técnica de fortalecimento que utiliza baixas cargas combinada com pressão externa, possibilitando dessa maneira ganhos neuromusculares similares a exercícios de alta intensidades. Objetivo: analisar a literatura sobre o método de restrição de fluxo sanguíneo associado ao condicionamento cardiorrespiratório em pacientes cardiopatas. Metodologia: Trata-se de uma revisão da literatura, para isto foram consultadas as publicações dos últimos dez anos sobre o conhecimento científico através de pesquisa bibliográfica nas bases de dados PUBMED, SCIELO, LILACS e BIREME,a sistematização de busca ocorreu no período de agosto de 2018, os critérios de inclusão: artigos na língua inglesa e portuguesa que abordaram o treinamento físico com restrição de fluxo sanguíneo como forma de condicionamento cardiorrespiratório, os critérios de exclusão foram artigos que envolveram outras metodologias de treinamento e estudos não disponíveis na integra, foram utilizado as palavras-chave: restrição de fluxo sanguíneo; condicionamento cardiorrespiratório e reabilitação cardíaca em combinação com os buscadores booleanos “e/ou”. Resultados: A reabilitação cardíaca é um artificio de desenvolvimento e manutenção do nível condicionamento físico, mental e social, que assegura o retorno do paciente a uma vida funcional, em contraste estudos apontam uma relevância significativa da desistência desses indivíduos, aos programas devido a longa jornada de progressão entre as fases de reabilitação, pouca intensidade de treinamento, baixa tolerância ao exercício e resultados a longo prazo, visto isso o método de restrição de fluxo sanguíneo permite maiores benefícios em populações que não toleram altas intensidades de treinamento físico. Conclusão: Essa metodologia de tratamento pode ser uma alternativa favorável para a melhora da funcionalidade, aumento da reserva cardiorrespiratória, redução da pressão arterial, com menos estresse oxidativo, menor sobrecarga cardiovascular e ganho de força similar a exercícios de alta intensidade

    Se propone realizar un análisis de la situación económica y social de las cooperativas agroindustriales, frente a las transformaciones del proceso de globalización, en la región de la cual forma parte la provincia de Misiones. Los emprendimientos asociativos de la economía social, entre los que se destacan las cooperativas, enfrentaron los problemas generados por las políticas neoliberales implementadas en las últimas décadas. A partir de la recuperación del crecimiento económico las cooperativas encuentran nuevos desafíos: incorporar nuevos socios, aumentar su capacidad de producción, mejorar la calidad de los productos, y encontrar canales de comercialización que les permitan mejorar su inserción en los mercados. Es por ello que creemos pertinente investigar los sistemas de producción y comercialización y las formas de organización cooperativas, evaluando la relación que esta situación guarda con el impacto que han producido las condiciones impuestas por los mercados globalizados. A partir de la recolección de datos secundarios, se analizara la importancia relativa de las cooperativas agroindustriales en la producción y en las exportaciones de la Provincia de Misiones y a partir de la aplicación de una metodología cualitativa se relevarán las estrategias establecidas por aquellas cooperativas que logran exportar

    OS-Based Sensor Node Platform and Energy Estimation Model for Health-Care Wireless Sensor Networks

    Accurate power and performance figures are critical to assess the effective design of possible sensor node architectures in Body Area Networks (BANs) since they operate on limited energy storage. Therefore, accurate power models and simulation tools that can model real-life working conditions need to be developed and validated with real platforms. In this paper we propose a sensor node platform designed for health-care applications and a validated simulation model based on event-driven operating system simula- tion that can be used to accurately analyze performance and power consumption in BANs composed of multiple nodes. Thus, this model can be employed to tune the node architecture and communication layer for different working conditions, applications and topologies of BANs. In this paper we validate the proposed simulation model on different real life applications and working conditions. Our results show variations of less than 4% between the presented simulation framework and measurements in the final platforms

    A Novel Clinical and Stress Cardiac Magnetic Resonance (C-CMR-10) Score to Predict Long-Term All-Cause Mortality in Patients with Known or Suspected Chronic Coronary Syndrome

    [EN] Vasodilator stress cardiac magnetic resonance (stressCMR) has shown robust diagnostic and prognostic value in patients with known or suspected chronic coronary syndrome (CCS). However, it is unknown whether integration of stressCMR with clinical variables in a simple clinical-imaging score can straightforwardly predict all-cause mortality in this population. We included 6187 patients in a large registry that underwent stressCMR for known or suspected CCS. Several clinical and stressCMR variables were collected, such as left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and ischemic burden (number of segments with stress-induced perfusion defects (PD)). During a median follow-up of 5.56 years, we registered 682 (11%) all-cause deaths. The only independent predictors of all-cause mortality in multivariable analysis were age, male sex, diabetes mellitus (DM), LVEF and ischemic burden. Based on the weight of the chi-square increase at each step of the multivariable analysis, we created a simple clinical-stressCMR (C-CMR-10) score that included these variables (age >= 65 years = 3 points, LVEF 5 segments = 1 point). This 0 to 10 points C-CMR-10 score showed good performance to predict all-cause annualized mortality rate ranging from 0.29%/year (score = 0) to >4.6%/year (score >= 7). The goodness of the model and of the C-CMR-10 score was separately confirmed in 2 internal cohorts (n> 3000 each).     Innate and adaptive immune assessment at admission to predict clinical outcome in covid-19 patients

    During the COVID-19 pandemic, many studies have been carried out to evaluate different immune system components to search for prognostic biomarkers of the disease. A broad multiparametric antibody panel of cellular and humoral components of the innate and the adaptative immune response in patients with active SARS-CoV-2 infection has been evaluated in this study. A total of 155 patients were studied at admission into our center and were categorized according to the requirement of oxygen therapy as mild or severe (the latter being those with the requirement). The patients with severe disease were older and had high ferritin, D-dimer, C-reactive protein, troponin, interleukin-6 (IL-6) levels, and neutrophilia with lymphopenia at admission. Moreover, the patients with mild symptoms had significantly increased circulating non-classical monocytes, innate lymphoid cells, and regulatory NK cells. In contrast, severe patients had a low frequency of Th1 and regulatory T cells with increased activated and exhausted CD8 phenotype (CD8+CD38+HLADR+ and CD8+CD27-CD28-, respectively). The predictive model included age, ferritin, D-dimer, lymph counts, C4, CD8+CD27-CD28-, and non-classical monocytes in the logistic regression analysis. The model predicted severity with an area under the curve of 78%.     Multi-frequency point source detection with fully convolutional networks: Performance in realistic microwave sky simulations

    Context. Point source (PS) detection is an important issue for future cosmic microwave background (CMB) experiments since they are one of the main contaminants to the recovery of CMB signal on small scales. Improving its multi-frequency detection would allow us to take into account valuable information otherwise neglected when extracting PS using a channel-by-channel approach. Aims. We aim to develop an artificial intelligence method based on fully convolutional neural networks to detect PS in multi-frequency realistic simulations and compare its performance against one of the most popular multi-frequency PS detection methods, the matrix filters. The frequencies used in our analysis are 143, 217, and 353 GHz, and we imposed a Galactic cut of 30°. Methods. We produced multi-frequency realistic simulations of the sky by adding contaminating signals to the PS maps as the CMB, the cosmic infrared background, the Galactic thermal emission, the thermal Sunyaev-Zel’dovich effect, and the instrumental and PS shot noises. These simulations were used to train two neural networks called flat and spectral MultiPoSeIDoNs. The first one considers PS with a flat spectrum, and the second one is more realistic and general because it takes into account the spectral behaviour of the PS. Then, we compared the performance on reliability, completeness, and flux density estimation accuracy for both MultiPoSeIDoNs and the matrix filters. Results. Using a flux detection limit of 60 mJy, MultiPoSeIDoN successfully recovered PS reaching the 90% completeness level at 58 mJy for the flat case, and at 79, 71, and 60 mJy for the spectral case at 143, 217, and 353 GHz, respectively. The matrix filters reach the 90% completeness level at 84, 79, and 123 mJy. To reduce the number of spurious sources, we used a safer 4σ flux density detection limit for the matrix filters, the same as was used in the Planck catalogues, obtaining the 90% of completeness level at 113, 92, and 398 mJy. In all cases, MultiPoSeIDoN obtains a much lower number of spurious sources with respect to the filtering method. The recovering of the flux density of the detections, attending to the results on photometry, is better for the neural networks, which have a relative error of 10% above 100 mJy for the three frequencies, while the filter obtains a 10% relative error above 150 mJy for 143 and 217 GHz, and above 200 mJy for 353 GHz. Conclusions. Based on the results, neural networks are the perfect candidates to substitute filtering methods to detect multi-frequency PS in future CMB experiments. Moreover, we show that a multi-frequency approach can detect sources with higher accuracy than single-frequency approaches also based on neural networks.We warmly thank the anonymous referee for the very useful comments on the original manuscript.
